Keeping your staff motivated at Christmas
December 3, 2018

Each year hundreds of people work for Staff One for projects and companies across the country. We make a concerted effort to remember that our workforce is not a statistic but a large number of individual workers who each have their own strengths, weaknesses and struggles.

Generally, as an employer, we don’t always directly feel the effects of our workers private lives, they attend work daily and undertake their given role. That said, we are aware that statistically, there is every chance that the people within our spectrum of supply may be directly or indirectly touched by the effects of addiction in one of its many forms.

This month we have partnered up with Rehab 4 Addiction to promote a service that exists to support people dealing with the effects of addiction.

As an employer, we believe we have a moral obligation to promote and provide support and resources to help our workforce in tougher times.

Speaking of the partnership, Rehab 4 Addiction founder Oliver Clark said:

We recognised Staff One as a great platform to partner our service earlier this year, knowing that through their brand media and through direct communication to their workers, they promote many facets of health and well-being, we knew our message would be conveyed.

I founded this free helpline back in 2011 and it has gone from strength-to-strength ever since. I, myself have been recovering from addiction for over 20 years so I understand exactly what many of the people who contact our helpline are experiencing. Our helplines are available around the clock and staffed by people who personally understand the effects of addiction.

According to The Guardian’s British Drugs Survey 2014, there are approximately one million Britons who have had a problem with drugs and still use them. Of those, male drug users are twice as likely as women to develop a problem at some stage (18% and 9% respectively). Meanwhile, the NHS estimates that around 9% of British men show signs of alcohol dependence, compared to 4% of UK women.

As well as our promotion of Rehab 4 Addiction we also provide resources for a range of outlets offering support to anyone who who needs them, you can find this list over on our Corporate Social Responsibility page.

Rehab 4 Addiction offers a free hotline dedicated to helping those suffering from drug, alcohol and mental health problems. Rehab 4 Addiction was founded in 2011 by people who overcame drug and alcohol addiction themselves. You can contact Rehab 4 Addiction on 0800 140 4690.
